Day-by-Day Itinerary
Depart Nairobi at 5:30 a.m. and head to Arusha, Tanzania. Upon arrival, meet mountain guides for a trek briefing. Enjoy dinner and rest at the hotel in preparation for the adventure.

After breakfast, transfer to Arusha National Park’s Momella Gate. Registration and park admission will be handled, and an armed ranger will join the group. Begin hiking through lush forest, looking out for wildlife like giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and monkeys. Enjoy a packed lunch on the trail. Arrive at Miriakamba Huts for a hot meal and beverages, then relax or explore.

Continue ascent after breakfast, following a steep trail through the forest, with opportunities for wildlife sightings. As elevation increases, the rainforest transitions to heath and moorland, offering expansive views of the Mount Meru crater. Arrive at Saddle Hut for a hot lunch. An optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820m) provides panoramic views. Enjoy an early dinner and prepare for the summit push.

Wake up by 12:30 a.m. for the final push to the summit, departing an hour later after a light snack and warm tea. Ascend towards Rhino Point (3,800m), then Cobra Point (4,350m), following a narrow path along the crater edge to the summit of Mount Meru around sunrise. Enjoy scenic views, including Mount Kilimanjaro on a clear day. Descend back to Saddle Hut for breakfast, then continue through the forest to Miriakamba Hut for the last night on the mountain.

After breakfast, begin the final stretch through the forest on a direct route. Pass by Tululusia Falls, a perfect spot to pause. The trail may offer surprise animal sightings on the way down. Reach Momella Gate, thank the crew, and transfer back to Arusha for a warm shower, comfortable bed, and a final evening together.
